Trekit or Been
Been is the fastest way to a map of the countries and US states you’ve visited, shareable as a picture. Trekit keeps the places: each with a note, the month and photos, on a map that is also your profile and where the next trip gets planned.
From Been’s own listing, as of October 2026. Sources.
Been is simple and quick: tick a country or state, add the date if you like, see the map, the list and a ratio per continent, post it to Instagram or compare with a friend who has the app. The paid unlock adds regions in 25+ countries, cities and airports, more globe views and a timeline video.
Trekit pins the actual places, each with a note, the month, up to 3 photos and been / want to go / planning. Countries are counted from them.
Years of trips come in from your Google Maps Timeline or your photos, read in your browser. On Been you tick each country by hand.
Been shares the map as an image. Trekit gives you trekit.app/@you: a live page with your places and notes, anyone-with-the-link by default, public if you want to be followed, or only you.
Plan with friends, invite them by name, email or a link, and tick off what you made it to afterwards.
Nothing to install; works on the phone and the computer. Been is an iPhone and iPad app, free with a paid unlock.

Yes: the embed makes a picture of your map, and you can download your map as an image from the app.
Not from Been. Your Google Maps Timeline or photos will fill in the same countries, as places.
Everything above about another app comes from its own store listing, website or help pages, read in October 2026. Apps change; if a line is out of date, email jacob@trekit.app and we’ll fix it. The names are used only to say which app is which.
